Glass, not plastic as others mentioned
This lamp is tall and elegant. The cone shape and 16" diameter shade give it a tall feminine appearance. The bulbs are lower than the bottom of the shade. I thought I could find a shorter center post that would reduce the height of the shade and cover the bulbs. Nope. I am having to live with it. Wish I had returned it. Taking off 2 stars. One of my concerns was that the metal grass might be sharp or cut me when turning the light on in the dark. The grass blades are pushed in towards the base for shipping. They can be bent outwards if desired. The edges seem fine at first perusal. The dragonfly arrives separately packaged. He attaches to the base with a screw in knob that is a smaller version of the knobs that are found at the top of lamps to secure a lamp shade. Even with both bulbs on, the dragonfly doesn't light up. The base is MUCH lighter weight than I expected. I hope the lamp will not be prone to tipping once the heavy shade is installed. It would have been nice to have the bottom of the base weighted to avoid potential tip overs. The colors are different than pictured. I will attach pictures looking inside the lamp shade and pictures of the exterior. I will also attach pictures with two 60 watt bulbs. The bulbs hang down below the shade. The post that is screwed on the top of the lamp is too long. It needs to be about an inch shorter. I will look for a shorter one. The lamp colors may not coordinate with the colors in the room I had intended to use it. However, I will try to find another location for it. This is a lovely lamp.

Where are you Dale?
From across the room, this lamp is a fantastic example of the Dale Tiffany that I love (in terms of glasswork), and while I prefer the classic, more decorative base to the modern one offered here, the dragonfly glass accessory on the reeds is a nice touch. Another reviewer mentioned that the light bulbs are visible from the side to which I concur. It's noticeable, but the colored glass looks nice and distracts you immediately. The issue to me becomes clear the closer you get to the lamp. The craftsmanship of the early Dale Tiffany lamp has regressed to mass-produced, moderately overpriced table art. There are several spots on the lamp where the soldering was not done properly and you can see light come through the gap. Parts of the solder lines are aggressively thick, and others are stretched thin between the two panes of adjoining glass. There was some consistency (the glass itself is BEAUTIFUL), but the fact that this lamp was the end result of their "quality control" lets me know that this is not Dale Tiffany that I fell in love with when I was young. I'm hoping mine is a one-off experience and that your lamp is solid, well-crafted, and worth every penny, but this will be my one and only (new) Dale Tiffany lamp purchase. I'll keep my eyes open for the early ones that were made with care at an estate sale or something.

These Tiffany Lamps are more beautiful in person! Well worth the price and in fact, I thought that they were going to be much more expensive when I first saw them. They are Dale Tiffany nd they have two pull chains. I love everything about them!
