Great Reel!

This is great conventional reel. I use it for all applications. When Rock bottom fishing I can crank it up fast with ease. Works well for jigging and even casting. I own expansive reels for my main setups. This one is my workhorse, backup. I have 50 Lbs braid and 40 lbs mono that I use for Trolling and within one second turn into bottom setup by adding a pre rigged 2 dropper loop leader and weight to the swivel instead of lure. If I go on a fishing from jet ski or kayak I m not bringing my expensive reels. So I use it for every application. This one is also great for beginner ora loaner to a friend on fishing trip. I m not worried to beat it up. You can see my videos online where I use this Seagate. Just recently got a bonito and white fish at the same time easily brought up the double. Mighty Fine Reel!

I recently purchased one of these, the SG 35! Liked the 35 so much turned around and ordered this SG 50 and glad I did.

Get what you pay for ‼️

This is a smooth reel. It has very little plastic on the body. It has a loud clicker for those who cast & free spool while waiting on a bit. Very good drag system also. If you choose this reel, you will not be disappointed.

Tough reel for tough girls.

OK you men, land a YT or Tuna 1/2 your weight and still smile. This is my first conventional Daiwa reel. My old Penns just gave up the ghost after 50 years. I have been using Diawa equipment since before my granddaughter's mother was born. I use my Daiwa 7700 spinning reel bought in 1970. This looks to be as well built as my Model 7700 that I use for inshore and light outshore fishing every season time I go since I bought it. So I got a couple of these after using a friends last outing. We ran into 30 lb yellowtails and with minimum help my Granddaughter used this to land hers. Now she has her own and with care she can give it to her granddaughter.

Smooth strong reel. Took out for some rock cod 250 feet deep. Excellent quality.

Daiwa Seagate SGT50H

Pro: It is lightweight with good drag and fast retrieve capability. I have no issue with long casting or bring in big fish. Con: The yellow aluminum retainer rings on both sides of the frame where the bolts are mounted, are rasor thin. My pole fell down from the rack on a fishing boat and both rings are scratched and bent badly. I just hope that the graphite frame will hold up better. I am surprised at this weak ring design from Daiwa.

quality workmanship at an affordable price

This reel convinces with its quality. I was impressed from the moment I took it out of the box. I will be using this over the winter months and post an update come spring.
