The original one wore away and broke. I ordered this one in hopes it would fit and it was just right. I was back in business again.

Original Craftsman Parts are a must

I tried to get an off brand that says it goes with my Craftsman trimmer.....the cap fit but it didnt allow for the automatic line feed. Disaster. Had to stop every few minutes and loosen the cap and manually pull the line out. Do yourself a favor and GET THE CRAFTSMAN PARTS!!! Works like a charm now!

Spool cap

I first received product it wouldn't fit. Ordered the correct part number. Returned for refund. Since then, I found a peice of broken plastic lodged where cap locks. So I probably had the correct item to start with.

Quite a powerful tool

I have not had a Craftsman weed whipper before; yet, my old one did not work this year so I went on the weed whipper hunt. This one was reasonably priced. It handles well; however, could have a flex handle that would allow the user to bend it to get into hard places. The V20 battery is a pain. It lasts about 20 minutes. A yard that is an acre needs more than a 20-minute battery! So, I use it until it dies, then put it on the charger while I do other things, then use it for another 20 minutes. The tool is solid and does a very nice job making my yard look like it was professionally done.

save your old spring

the replacement spring is longer than the original making the autofeeder for the line not work. I put the old spring in and it works. I suppose you could cut the spring if your old one is gone but other than that I'm back in business
