Good basic watch, cannot beat the price.
Good-looking basic watch, lightweight, compact, just what I wanted and needed. I have other dress watches and overly-complicated and/or heavy diver watches. THIS ONE is perfect for leisure wear and to me looks great with the white graphics and red pointer on the black watch, and it is NOT oversized or otherwise huge which seems to be the trend nowadays. I have another one of these and replaced it's battery in a few minutes, so no wasted time or money having a battery replaced by a jeweler or watch repair. I'm astounded at the low price on this - $21 for a Casio with day/date is crazy. Can't beat this.

Used it for diving
I wanted a watch for diving that was very cheap just so I could use it for time between dives and to know the time of day. Just returned from a week long dive trip with 10 dives down to 104 feet and it worked perfectly. It was exactly what I needed as if it did leak I was not out much money at all and would have expected it due to the inexpensiveness. For me, a great purchase.

Great watch
I bought this watch for my recent trip to Mexico. i wore it to the pool and hot tub and ocean and never once faltered. For $20 it’s a great beater watch. The bezel moves but doesn’t click. It kind of surprised me but seems to stay in place well when using the timing function.

Straightforward and Practical Timepiece
This watch, made in China to a Japanese design, is reminiscent of the first diver's watch I bought in 1976. No frills in appearance, no complex controls, just one knob to control its features, and even more astonishing, instructions that are clear and concise (on the same sheet of paper those instructions are repeated in an astonishing variety of languages but I guess that's what "made in China" is all about today.) It has a battery powered quartz movement, which is different from the mechanical "self winding" innards of the 1976 watch, but not better nor worse; it's much more accurate but the battery will need occasional replacement. It is analog, while watches I've owned since 1976 have been either wholly or partially digital. I believe, over 40 years of experience, that if you've learned to "tell time" on an analog dial, as all children had to in grade school in my time, analog is better. When you look at the analog face and see that it's 5 minutes to 8 you'll know at once that you'd better hurry, while with a digital you'll look at it and say, relax, it's only 7:55 and I don't have to be there till 8. It's human nature. If you want a stopwatch or to time things to the second, you'll need a digital, or a much more expensive analog with additional dials. Having worn the watch for a while I've come to appreciate that it's actually improved over the originals. The numbers are exceptionally clear and readable -- a huge benefit for those whose vision is, well, not what it used to be. Having the 24-hour military time numbers for PM shown in a much smaller font inside the 12-hour numbers is a huge benefit, doing away with the 12-24 toggle which has been a feature of every digital watch I've had. The rotating timer bezel turns in both directions, while I can remember diver's watches where you could only spin it one way, requiring lots of turning if the index setting needed to be the other way by 5 minutes. The day of the week and date window are just like in 1976 -- a rectangle where the "3" would be if the window wasn't there. The day and date are small but very legible. My previous diver's watches have been down to about 30 feet both with Scuba gear and free swimming. They have ridden on various boats and sailboards even more often, where I expected mere splash resistance would be enough. Through the 40 years there was only one water-leakage failure. So, when the manufacturer says it's rated to 100 m submergence, I think it is probably suitable for all water sports including Scuba diving up to the point where decompression stops are required; deeper than that it might be advisable to buy a fancier timepiece. I no longer dive, but I think the traditional styling is pleasant for casual wear as well. That it won't be destroyed if you wear it for a swim is a bonus. It's a watch. It tells time. It does not synch to the GPS time signal nor tell you where you are. It can't alert rescuers to come save you if you fall and break your ankle while walking the Appalachian Trail. But, it costs a tenth of what the wrist devices that do those things do, and its operation is easy to learn. It doesn't come with a 100-page manual, nor do you have to watch a YouTube video to learn how to work it if you can't find that manual. So except that its visibility at night is only adequate, I think it's an excellent performer and economical, too.

Was it new?
Pretty good cheap watch, keeps ok time, have not tested water resistance. Watch arrived running, so it must have been returned by someone. Advertised as new but obviously not. So I don't know how long the battery will last, battery replacement is a big deal for a cheap watch. Ok watch, not so good seller.

Only one fault but for under $20 Incredible.UPDATE 2 faults
The watch face looks good and is easy to read. The hands are much more Luminance than the numbers.WHY did Casio skimp/cheapen the watch like this? When you first go in a dark are the watch looks like a Luminox. In about 15 minutes the numbers are gone, but the hands still visible for a quite a while longer. Sorry haven't actually timed it. Casio came so close to upstaging watches costing hundreds but cut corners on the number illumination. So if you wake during the night you better have a light handy if you want to know the time. The band is comfortable and very long, should fit wrist up to about 9 1/4". The watch/band combo are very light weight. See my setting notes as Casio's instruction are poor to worthless. The bezel rotates in both directions, so not a true dive bezel. No click detents, but it has enough resistance not to easily move by hitting /rubbing against clothes, pockets, etc. during normal activities. Conclusion: NO WHERE will you find a watch with these features for under $20. Even under $50 or $100, unless you are looking at another Casio. Timex watches are great but they miss the point in features that I want. Even their "dive" watches are too damn small. I do wish this Casio had a IndiGlow type feature since the luminance is lame. 40 Grams 1.4 ounces wrist fit: buckle to: last hole in band appox 9 1/4 inches, end of band approx 10 1/4 inches note: my wrist appox 7 1/2 inches fits band hole 5 (of 11) comfort not tight Side note: when I was diving seriously I had a $50 100m resin Casio that looked like this, but had real Luminance, one way bezel, a scratch proof crystal and went below 100' (even 130 at times) on a regular basis for over 5 years until I lost it. Several of my dive buddies went to Casio after their $300 dive watches failed while my Casio kept going. Avoid setting date or day of week between 9pm and 5am as they may not change correctly the next day(per Casio) Date- pull crown out to 1st position, rotate counterclockwise until correct date shows in window. Day of Week- pull crown out to 1st position , rotate clockwise(see note below) until correct language day of week shows in window. UPDATE: This setting is harder on this watch than any watch I have previously had; it is a total pain in the butt. I think part of the problem is having Spanish days also. After resetting many times I finally got it to change properly but since it has a second language the day of week doesn't show until about 4am. This is unacceptable and stupid. Do they think everyone is sleeping between midnight and 4am so it doesn't matter? Casio should have two versions, one for English and one for Spanish. This is aggravating enough to drop it from 5 to 3.5 stars. Note: you cannot change day until time is set after 6 pm or later. Time- pull crown out to 2nd position, this will stop second hand. set time by rotating crown to current time, push crown in to restart time (second hand wil restart) For most accurate time setting: pull crown out to 2nd position when second hand at 12 (,this will stop second hand), set time by rotating crown to 10 min past time and reverse to current time + one Minute, when your master timer (computer, cell phone, or Government central clock that shows seconds ) reaches the exact minute-zero seconds you set push crown in immediately and your watch is "set to the second" or synchronized. Bezel- rotate bezel until triangle/arrow on bezel aligns with minute hand. Without moving bezel you can tell "elapsed" time by looking at which number on the bezel the minute hand is pointing at; up to one hour. After an hour you need to remember to add how many hours have pasted and add to the minutes indicated by minute hand and bezel numbers. An alternate and less used way for bidirectional bezels is to turn the triangle/arrow on the bezel to the time you want to end timing: ie time is 4:07 and you want to run 20 minutes, set bezel triangle/arrow to 4:27 then run until minute hand points to bezel triangle/arrow. This way you don't notice minutes just finish time. NOTE on pictures: the one of the watch in the dark shows how bright it is initially, this does not last long. I left the end of the band out of the retainer loop just to show how much extra is available.

Does the job beautifully
I was still reeling from the abject failure of a Big Kahuna watch I'd bought as a holiday/casual watch (totally misted up inside the case in 2m of water) when this popped up in the sale. I had a little more faith as Casio usually know what they're doing and have been at it for a long time. I'm glad I gave them a chance. This watch is aesthetically very pleasing and comfortable to wear. So much so that it's my default watch for everyday use. Very happy to be able to recommend it.

Back-up watch has become favourite
I bought this so as not to wreck my more elegant watch while doing rough jobs. I now use the Casio daily as default watch and the more expensive watch spends its life in a drawer. Its accurate time-keeping and easy-to-read dial make it my favourite. One negative point: I had to get the strap replaced after very little use.

If you don't at first succeed........
A watch that tells the date and day of the week, besides time and water-resistancy (!), all for £22 is very good value. But I bought it because a sister model had broken and was running out of battery and did not claim luminosity - this is NBG for that.
