Although it did solve the problem, the wires were too short. I had to extend the both leads to the coils for it to work, but overall the diodes did solve the issue.

It works
This one was not like the older one and the lead to the switch is short so you might want to extend it some.. These are likely for inside the housing such as some Vanguard twins. I also had to make a smaller spade bit by cutting it. I did not want to cut the new wire assembly in case it did not work.. I used shrink tubing over the wire connectors.

Worked perfectly
Fit my 21hp twin intek with some basic modifications. Was a little short but crimped ends on and works great.
