Everything it is marketed to be and more
First of all, I read several negative reviews about this model, and was slightly deterred, but thankfully the overwhelming positive response steered me in the right direction. Given that many of the negative reviews are several years old, I assume there may have been production issues, or potentially user errors. Either way, here is my review. I live in Arizona, like many of the other reviewers, and I regularly have an overwhelming amount of rocks, dirt, sand and tree/plant detritus that settles at the bottom of the pool. After spending an inordinate amount of time brushing the pool, and only seeing a minor reduction in debris, I quickly decided this was not worth my time, which is very valuable, just like everyone elses. Also, I'm not a huge fan of excessive sun exposure leading to skin cancer, so that's another positive. Additionally, I was paying a pool cleaning service and they were doing a terrible job at managing the water chemistry and keeping things clean. After firing them, I took up managing the pool to save some money. This made me quickly realize that certain tasks in the realm of pool maintenance are best automated in the interest of saving time and overall efficiency. Scrubbing the bottom of the pool is one of those things, hands-down. In its debut run, totaling two hours, this handy little robot did what I was unable to do in two weeks, and about 1000% better. After only running for one cycle, I retrieved the unit and took out the filters to examine what was captured. I was frankly amazed with what was inside; probably a solid few pounds of sand, dirt and other types of debris that had settled at the bottom of the pool, most of which I have not even seen. I was beyond pleased. One of the other concerns prior to its initial cycle was whether or not the stock filters would be capable of gathering the fine dust particles that exist out here in the desert. From my experience, the stock filters do a phenomenal job, and I have yet to find a reason to get the fine filters. That's just my experience. Removing and cleaning the filters is a breeze. You pop them out, detach the filter panels, spray them down in an area where you don't mind some water and dirt getting, and you're done. If you are elderly or otherwise physically incapacitated, this unit may be a little difficult to wrangle from the water or carry around. If you are otherwise physically capable and not elderly, you should have no problem carting this around by hand. It really doesn't weigh much, and frankly, I don't see the purpose in having it on a caddy. I kept the plastic bag it was wrapped in from the original packaging to put it back inside of after use, and that seems to work really well. Like any other appliance you would like to have last for a while, you should take care of it, and leave it in a place where it is unlikely to be harmed by the elements. That means not leaving it in direct sunlight, or in areas where nature will be able to take advantage of it. If you have a shed or a garage, that will work just fine. Lastly, I have a free-form pool with some interesting twists and turns in the design with several variable depths and steps. This unit did happen to struggle at random locations, but it was nothing serious to note, and it was able to correct itself without stalling at any one location. This will get nicks and scrapes as it attempts to navigate your pool, so I wouldn't get too hung up on it looking perfect. It's not a Maserati that you're driving to a dinner party, it's a robot designed to suck debris off the bottom of your pool. Set your expectations accordingly. Overall, extremely pleased. In my opinion, the unit has already paid for itself in its first run. I am excited to bust this out in the future and watch it do all the hard work while I sit back in the shade and sip on a beer.

Beast!
Bought a house late last summer because I loved the pool - the house isn't so bad either though. Absolutely love the pool but I had no idea whatsoever about maintenance. I didn't do much last year - the pool was already open when we moved in. I shocked it a few times. Called the pool guy because I thought there was sand in the bottom of the pool, turns out it was algae. They came out and cleaned it and fixed the chemicals for me. No idea!! We had the pool opened up in April this year and converted it from chlorine to saltwater. Cost about $3,500 with the chemicals and equipment and installation. The pool guy asked where my cleaner was. All I had was a brush with a vacuum hose. I cleaned it myself for the 2 months we had it open last year. He looked at it and said that is crap! You need a robotic cleaner - they are the best. He wanted to sell me a Polaris for about the same price as the Dolphin but it was 4% more if I used a credit card. Plus I wanted to check reviews before buying anything. After reading about the other brand, seems like there are quite a few issues with it. I made the decision to buy this one based on all the good reviews. I will tell you 1. It came quickly!! I mean like delivered in 2 days. 2. I bought it on my Amazon card for 12 months with no interest 3. And most important - this thing is an absolute BEAST! My pool has never been cleaner. My husband even commented on how good it looks and he doesn't usually say anything. It has been way too cold to get in yet. Can't wait to actually use it this year. Between the saltwater and the cleaner the water is super clear. I do not regret this purchase at all! Highly recommend!!

It’s a robot in an outdoor aquatic environment… some care is needed
I’ve bought two of these over the last decade and they are great. Even though we have in floor cleaning jets, this robot keeps the pool much cleaner and has reduced failures in various pool mechanical systems (I speculate that it has paid for itself by preventing damage to expensive systems such as filter, pump, actuators, etc.). But I have some usage recommendations based on experience. Both of the dolphin robotic pool cleaners I bought have failed after a couple of years (sooner than expected) due to specific failure conditions that could have been prevented. First, be really careful about pulling on the electrical cable (as the directions say). One of our dolphin robotic cleaners had the seal fail, so the electrical connection pins corroded away. Remember that other family members or a pool cleaning tech may not realize this is important, so it’s best to keep the dolphin robotic cleaner out of the pool and safely stowed when not in use. Second, be careful about lightning storms. Our second dolphin robotic pool cleaner got zapped when I accidentally left it in the pool during a storm. Its electrical cord connects to 110V through the controller which makes a nice ground path with a very large loop, in other words a highly efficient antenna. My son and I verified the failure mode by disassembling the unit and finding burn spots on power transistors, fused board traces, and highly resistive motor windings, indicating electrical overstress conditions (other outdoor electronics such as sprinkler controller failed at the same time, confirming this root cause). The user corrective action is the same though: don’t leave the robot in the pool. If it’s stowed away, the ground loop is broken and the lightning power surge won’t pass through the robot. After these investigations we made a “Franken-robot” from the two robots’ remaining undamaged parts, and now have a happily working robot that stays out of the pool if there’s and risk of storms and otherwise keeps the pool clean.

too difficult for three year old to squeeze.
not suitable
Scritto da: Cardboardbox
Impossible for toddlers to squeeze
Seeing as the main purpose is for these to be squeezed by toddlers, you’d expect them to be squeezable but they are not. The rubber squeezable part is so firm that it’s difficult for adult hands to grasp in the right position to squeeze. It is impossible for a 2 year old to, even with two hands. It’s otherwise a really cute and cleverly designed bath toy, and ticks the boxes of being washable and appealing. The design fails to consider the users and the strength. I am really disappointed. I will look into returning them but they came in some industrial strength plastic that had to be cut open so the original packaging had to be destroyed.

Easy to clean
These toys are very cute. Water doesn’t squirt out very fast. The plastic of the top pieces are stiff. They are so easy to clean and dry by untwisting the two parts which is the main reason I bought the bath toys. Traditional squirt toys can grown mould inside because they can’t dry properly.

Worth the price
Very cool, 2 year old loves it. Light is very good on it, you can turn off the bathroom light and this little fella lights up the whole tub/room.
