Absolutely Necessary

I bought the cap addition because I have a Nerite Snail in my tank. He kept climbing down the air tube and getting stuck. The cap now prevents this and looks like it belongs on the tube. Probably should be sold with the original set up.

Everyone should buy this, but it should come with the BiOrb

I had a problem with guppies and neons making their way into the biOrb's filter, getting stuck, and dying. And besides the fact that that shouldn't happen, it's really inconvenient to get them out. Since this item is available, it is obvious that this is a problem with the design of biOrb's filtering systems and the cap should come with the biOrb at time of purchase. But it's not. I'm glad it's available, or I would be losing more fish, but I really do wish that it wasn't a necessary add-on.

Fits perfect / does what it's supposed to do

I think they should include this with the tank set. Especially in the 4 to 8 gallon tanks. They can only hold small fish. Small fish can swim down that tube. The gard was perfect. Arrived fast, fits great and does what it is supposed to do.

Necessary for biOrb!

I bought one of these and never put it on the tube because I truly didn't believe my fish, shrimps, or snail would enter the tube. I was wrong and, to my horror, found a fish trapped in the filter base yesterday. Luckily he must not have been in there long; he was unharmed when I released the filter base and swam free. I immediately capped the tube and was thankful I had it on hand!

Must have to prevent trapped fish!

This is a must have for a biorb tank. The whole at the top of the filtration device could make it very easy for a fish to get trapped and sucked in. Making this a must have addition that you must buy. I am not sure why this piece was not included with the tank as it should but but isn't. If you are buying a biorb - make sure you buy this tube guard as well.

You need this if you have shrimp or snails. My baby snails still manage to slip through but they always get back out!

Does the job

Got one idiot fish who always manages to swim down the tube and this has stopped it without interrupting the air flow. It fits well and looks like it is a part of the design

Works a treat

I’ve read about little critters/fish getting stuck down the biorb tube so bought this in anticipation. It fits well and doesn’t impede the flow of bubbles at all. After reading reviews about it being hard to remove for cleaning, I didn’t push it all the way on to start with but I have since pushed it on fully and it comes off with ease. Considering how much biorbs initially cost, they ought to include one of these with the tank.

Strongly recommend getting this.

It's a shame this didn't come with the tank but was pleased when I came across it. After saving one of my shrimp as he some how got down the pipe and got stuck in the filter. This little gem has saved me worrying.

Biorb Bubble Tube Guard

Very good piece of kit, just arrived in time too as 3 of my minnows just had babies so hopefully will safeguard them from disappearing down the tube!! Also have 2 shrimps & some of the reviewers have stated they’ve lost them... a bit of a tight fit but didn't push too hard in case I can’t remove for cleaning tube...

Protecting your fishies.

It will protect your fishies, a really important investment, it just slots on the top of the tube nice and simple. I have a classic 60litre. The bubbles still come through perfect as that’s what I was worried about. I do think it should come with the tank in the first place though!
