Pricy but easy to toss in a bag
This sunscreen is very lightweight, absorbs well and smells really summery. While I can't really speak to how effective it is in the direct, summer sun (it's just warming up here), I can say it felt nice on my skin and I trust Banana Boat enough as a brand that I don't hesitate to believe their SPF claims. The bottle is on the small side, so it's an easy size option to throw in a summer beach bag or keep in your glove box. Compared to a larger bottle, this is definitely on the pricy end but if sunscreen with extra vitamins is important to you, then this is a solid option.

Protects you from the sun - with an extra vitamin kick?!
Banana Boat is a classic name in sunscreen products - well-known and well-regarded for many years for making sunscreens that aren’t fancy, but that get the job done for a reasonable price. This is part of a newer line where they seem to be following the “trendy” practice for skin products by adding more vitamins and other add-ins to their sun protection products. While these don’t add to the sunscreen value of the products, they are generally a positive (they’re vitamins that CAN be absorbed through the skin and adding additional vitamin C and B3 to your routine can be helpful. Also, generally when using higher SPF sunscreens (I suppose some might consider SPF 50 to be moderate, but I would consider it on the higher end), particularly waterproof ones, you’re like doing things that aren’t good for your skin (like swimming in salt water, chemical containing pools or so on - or playing in the sand/bright sun), so a few extra vitamins can’t hurt in that case. I’m not sure I’d pay MORE for the vitamins, but that doesn’t really seem to be the case here or marginally so - so you’re getting something with a bit of extra potential benefit at any rate. As far as sun protection - which is, after all, why you’d be buying sunscreen - this Banana Boat lotion is great. It goes on smoothly and easily without feeling greasy like some can, absorbs well and seems to hold up to it’s basic claims - SPF 50 / waterproof for 80 minutes / etc. I’ve never been particularly prone to burning, so I only use products like this on particularly strong sun exposure days (beach/lake/etc.) but it seems to work well. And while all sunscreens contain chemicals of some sort or another, this one does come advertised as avoiding some of the harmful ones that other, cheaper sunscreens can use. So to that end, if you’re in the market for a solid, reasonably priced SPF 50 sun protection, give this one a try - you even get a few extra vitamins to boot.

I think Banana Boat has a good reputation and I trust this product to provide the amount of SPF it advertises. This product has some pleasant citrus notes mixed in with the usual sunscreen smell. It’s a very creamy consistency that kind of feels like a body mousse. It does take a little bit of work to fully massage it into your skin. It is not advertised as explicitly reef-safe or reef-friendly but it IS free from the two ingredients that are worst for reefs so that’s nice! The bottle I received in Jan 2023 expires in July 2025. If the addition of vitamins is important to you then this sunscreen is definitely worth a try, and the slight price increase over other comparable sunscreens. I am on the fence about whether the vitamins are worth the upcharge but I CAN tell you that I know my family and I will happily use this product this spring/summer.

keeps me protected
This Banana Boat sunscreen does the job! I am very 'light-skinned' but this sunscreen keeps me protected from sunburns like no other sunscreen that I've tried. Very good product. Works well and doe not feel greasy.

Decent for on the go size.
Got this for the ski season. Nice size that fits into the jacket pocket. I wish it was TSA approved size though. I have very sensitive skin and usually only use zinc oxide type sunscreen. Standard sunscreen typically burns my face but I wanted to give this one a shot. I love the scent, not a typical sunscreen smell - a hint of bananas, barely noticeable. I put a small layer on my face. It smoothed well like a face cream but a little more oily. About 10 minutes later I felt a slight tingle on my face but not the usual burning feel. Still, the tingle is uncomfortable and I will probably not use this on my face again. However, this will be a good sunscreen for the rest of my body. I will save it for summer activities.

Protects from the sun and smells like citrus
While I didn’t need the sunscreen during the Midwest winter I’m living in, we went to Florida after the new year for a quick trip and the sunscreen was greatly appreciated. I don’t usually use such a high spf, but last year we went to Florida and I got fried by not paying attention, so I wanted to ensure I was protected this time. The scent is not your typical scent from a sunscreen, it’s more citrus like than it is chemical smell. It goes on white and then dries into a sheen across your skin. It didn’t leave my skin feeling sticky per se but I did feel like it was subtly oily or greasy. It looked way more greasy than it actually was though, my skin almost had a sparkle to it. It says it lasts for 80 minutes in water or 2 hours just in the sun. We were on the beach so I followed the 80 minutes and re-applied. I didn’t get sunburnt and I felt like I still got a little bit of a tan. The newness of this sunscreen is that it has vitamins C and B3 in it. My skin didn’t dry out after using it but I didn’t notice any amazing differences between normal sunscreen either. I’m mostly just using sunscreen to protect from the sun so looking for one that had vitamins in it wouldn’t be my first thought. The vitamins also must make the sunscreen worth a lot more because the price is significantly higher than a regular bottle of banana boat at the same spf and size.

A nice citrus scent in a classic sunscreen
Banana Boat sunscreen lotion has been around for as long as I can remember. This version is formulated with vitamins and tea extract, among other things, although it still has a chemical base. The scent is really nice, reminiscent of oranges. The sunscreen went on thick and white and left a sheen on my hand when I rubbed it in. After fifteen or twenty minutes, it didn't look as shiny and my skin felt moisturized.
