Whistles are great for lots of tasks.
If you're looking for a whiste that's a great fit for many tasks, then this would be a great option for you. I personally carry it on me everyday for use as an attention/security device. Streamlined, flat, compact & lightweight. It's bright orange color is nice & easy to locate when it's dark by use of a flashlight. And it is also very loud for is small size. It also can easily be used for getting the attention of your dog if her/him had been trained or if you're working on training her/him. The attached cord is also handy when strung around your neck. The length of the provided cord will fit just about anyone with the exception of the jolly green giant. Just use caution in certain situations as it obviously can become a choking hazard. If you're looking for an affordable whistle to fit many uses then look no further.

Inexpensive option!
Got what was expected. An inexpensive and very thin whistle to carry in a slingback or running belt. Not a screamer, however, for signaling in an emergency, not a bad buy! If you are looking for a loud, deafening whistle, based on the whistle I received, you will need to look at other options. For the price and being strictly an, "if ever needed" whistle, this fits the application it was bought for. If it was louder, it would be a 5 star rating.

Loud. Everyone in the family carries one.
Very easy to store on your person and economical if you want to outfit a whole troop. If you are hiking and become separated, it takes much less energy to blow on this than yell. Not quite a loud as other whistles, however the whistling sound is very distinct from a voice or a yell and is easier to locate. My family always carries them on hikes. Water, whistle, band-aids, walking stick... just part of the minimal kit.

A Must Have for the Outdoor Enthusiast!
I spend a lot of time hiking and kayaking and so far I've never really been seriously hurt or stranded but when you read about people that have been...it's a lot easier to whistle for help, then it is to scream...it takes less effort and is usually louder and more sustainable. One guy that I hike with, used it to scare off a bear, but I'd rather not find out about that! With the lanyard, you can wear it around your neck, or tie it to a shoulder strap of a pack or life vest.

Annoying, but not loud enough.
The media could not be loaded. Grabbed these for my kiddos for “safety” purposes like the title states. I was expecting to hear a cover the ears, cringeworthy, pee my pants kind of sound to come out of it, but alas, it sounds like a mini toy train. I’m better off with my 80’s highschool gym coach’s whistle.

Easy to carry alert signal.
Not real loud, but it is a great buy for the price. Compact and can be easily carried or woren on your person (my daughter has it on her keychain so it is always with her). Nowdays, it is a good idea to have some type of signal to alert people to danger or your whereabouts.

Sounds travels
I love this product. I recently got into kayaking, and need a few items to ensure if I am in trouble, help will see or hear me. I picked this item up at Bass Pro for my wife last week and it cost us around $4...obviously Amazon is cheaper. The sound emitted is like an old school train whistle. What I like about this product is that the sound carries over the water, and sounds a lot louder then what it might not on land.
