Great gift idea

Gear meshing was wrong throughout whole car.

The pinion gear and diff gear housing was too tight making mesh too tight. Plus the motor and spur gear was way too tight.. I was able to save the pinion and dif gear. But the spur gear is al messed up. Just be careful.

Great chassis, poor electronics

Pros: Popular chassis with a ton of aftermarket support. Seems to be quite durable. Cons: The motor burns out quickly, the ESC doesn't seem to follow its own LVC and cuts a bit earlier than most people would run, and we broke the servo's main gear after 4 outings even with their servo saver intact and seemingly working fine. Easy to run, pretty quick. Ended up replacing the motor with a used Titan 12t and runs fine. Bought a cheap 25kg metal gear servo on here and runs great. Lots of possible upgrades, and it will be going brushless pretty soon. Fun basher, and the hardware has been durable so far. Just have to get away from the Spektrum low end.

Cool truck for beginners and upgradable for vets

I love this truck. The radio system in it is kinda not great, but I threw a Dumborc in it and a Castle system and it hauls.

Good beginner rc

Less than a month after purchase, upgraded everything from a arms to motor and esc . Something wrong in the differential just get a grinding sound and no go . Cant even open the diff to find out whats wrong screw is stripped and stuck . Just a paperweight now cant use

Not nearly as durable as people claim they are!! Buyers Beware!!

I recently bought an Arrma Vorteks Boost, the reason I chose the Boost platform was because of how easy it is to upgrade and because of all the reviews claiming that they're super durable!! Maybe I got a Friday afternoon special, you know the last one built before the weekend where the person building it is more concerned with quitting time and the upcoming weekend than they are about the quality of the unit they're building but I really doubt that's the case. I truly believe that they're not anywhere as good as they're said to be!! The very first time I took mine out right away I noticed how loud and clunky it was and within the first ten minutes I had my first breakdown! Left front shock failed, the end connected to the lower control arm sheered clean off and so it was out of commission that fast so I ordered a new pair of front shocks and rear shocks fearing that the other 3 stock shocks were as poorly made as the left front one that broke!! I bought a good set of aftermarket oil filled shocks they weren't the best you can buy and they were far from the cheapest as well. After installing them I excitedly took it outside for the second time since I got it and wouldn't you know it lasted all of maybe 10 minutes before the left front shock broke in exactly the same way the first one did and thats when I decided I was going to send it back, I was angry and disappointed after buying a brand new (RC basher) and it broke twice on flat ground, honestly the only time it had all four wheels of the ground up until this point was when I picked it up to carry it inside after it broke both times?? After talking to my brother about it I decided to give it one more chance and I ordered another pair of front shocks and once I had them installed I was all excited to finally get some time in with my Vorteks, well I got it outside and was all ready to go and I turned it on and squeezed the throttle trigger and nothing happened so I knelt down next to it and it hit me, the smell of burnt wiring!! Sure enough it was the motor, this motor didn't even have 20 minutes of use when it burnt up?? So as you can imagine I was done with my vorteks it was going back and that's when I did something really stupid, I bought a new brushless motor and ESC (spektrum firma 85A ESC and a sensorless brushless 550 4000kv motor, new shocks(2 sets I stock set just fronts and a complete set of 4 arrcat oil filled shocks oh and I forgot to mention when I ordered the first set of replacement shocks I also bought the arrma boost 4x4 upgrade kit and installed it. So I swapped out the motor ESC and replaced the first set of aftermarket arrcat shocks with a set of stock shocks and this leads us up until yesterday when my brother and I took it out for its first run with the brushless combo on it and I gotta say it was quite a bit faster than it was stock unfortunately I'm not sure how much faster because the first little jump I hit wouldn't ya know it broke again!! Not the front left shock this time, this time it was the upper control arm leaving my vorteks out of commission for the 3rd time and I still haven't even got 20 minutes of usage from it, I haven't even had to swap in a fresh battery yet? Just a complete piece of junk!! It's the biggest piece of junk I've ever owned!! I have a 1/14 Amoril buggy that has had the wheels driven off it and I've only had one breakdown(broken shock) after a wheel to wheel collision with a 1/10 arrma senton at full speed?? Don't buy a Vorteks or a Granite if you're going to buy an Arrma RC get the Senton it's seemingly a much tougher rig mainly because the body shrouds the entire chassis and the wheels and suspension are protected rather than stuck out like a sore thumb waiting to break!! So here's a quick breakdown of the short time I've owned my Arrma vorteks, and just so you know I'm 43 years old and have had RC cars and trucks my entire life starting from age 4 so I'm not new to the hobby and I understand the limitations and all that. I did not go out with the intentions of breaking my vorteks, it was actually supposed to be my new main RC other than my losi 1/10 drag car/truck which I only use to race in a straight line. I also have a few rock crawlers and the 1/14 amoril buggy. So the vorteks was meant to be my everyday ripper. Anyway the first time out within less than ten mins I broke the front left shock, 2nd time out with all 4 new shocks, broke the front left shock in less than 10 mins again and both times the shock broke on flat ground for no good reason, I had to hit my brother's Senton at full speed to break a shock on my amoril buggy?? Third time I tried to use it I turned it on hit the throttle and poof the motor up in smoke and the fourth time out after installing new motor ESC combo the right front upper control arm broke off, all of that carnage and the thing has been used less than 20 minutes!! SAVE YOUR MONEY THE ARRMA VORTEKS BOOST IS JUNK, I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER ARRMA PRODUCT AFTER THIS DEBACLE!!
