Good idea, poor execution

I liked the idea of the shield around the bowl to further slow my dog down. That met with mixed results though. The smarter of my 2 dogs that are using this bowl immediately figured out that the shield presented an opportunity to flip the bowl over, spilling the contents onto the floor making the whole process of eating easier for her. So that was a bust. The other issue that you might want to understand is that the design is a bowl within a bowl. The inner bowl (with the puzzle) clips into the outer bowl that rocks. The issue that you might have is that if like me you put water on your dog's food to slow down their eating that water can and will get down into the lower bowl. Inside of that lower bowl is a heavy magnet that serves as a counterweight. Unfortunately, when water gets down into that inner bowl that magnet leaches an ugly brown water. The only way to get it out is to use a thin screw driver, or similar device, to pop the inner bowl out of the outer bowl. Then you can drain the water. Or, in my case, I said "screw it" and am just using the inner bowl inside of a regular dog bowl. Bottom line, the clever design might not work for all people. If you don't put water on your dog's food it won't be an issue. Still, even with the outer bowl and shield this product is comparable in price to similar products so I have no complaints.

Great for puppies

Bought for 2 month old Doberman. I love this bowl. She can't tip it and it really makes her eat more slowly

Great bowls.

I love these! Especially for the price, they're superior to most of the slow feeders because of the shield..less messy and my growing Pitsky puppy doesn't steal the Boston Terrier's food. I wish the bottom part would pull apart because water gets under there when cleaning but doesn't pour out easily..on the other hand it's not a bad ant trap..they eat the food, get thirsty and then crawl through the little crack never to be seen again. I imagine there's a watery ant grave sealed under there..again much better if they came apart. Still worth it though. ????????

Water gets stuck in these. Very unsanitary

Impossible to wash bc water gets stuck inside. I would NOT recommend bc unsanitary with moldy water. Shame because these are cool and I love the splash guard.

Bowl comes apart very easily

This bow is nice in theory but it does not stay together very well. I bought two of these bowl and I have had the same issue with both that the dome portion does not stay attached to the actual bowl. I am still able to use the bowls but just without the dome portion. They are also not very stable. They move around all over the place making it hard for my pet to eat out of it. I believe that they work much better for a large breed.
