Too costly. Doesn't come with check valve.

The new cartridge works good if you purchased the check separately. We overlooked the need for a new check valve. Water was running uncontrolled. Luckily the old check valve was able to be reused. Of course there is an additional cost for the check valve, that's way it's too costly. Update: That's how I was mislead the first pic of the cartridge has the check valve attached. The one I received didn't have one.

Quick and easy drop-in install

We were lucky and the only thing that broke during the Great Texas Freeze of 2021 was an outdoor shower by the pool. The shower head was dripping water when we emerged from our hibernation and after opening up the handle, we could see a crack down the center of the cartridge. All other seals were fine! I wish this was available locally, but it turns out that Amazon got it to me the next day! I ordered on Saturday afternoon and received it on Sunday even though they estimated it would arrive on Thursday! I dropped everything to get it in (we're expecting rain) and the install couldn't have been easier. This was from Peerless and shipped/sold via Amazon. It did come with the anti-scald ring on it and all I had to do was unscrew the handle mount from the old one and put it onto the new one. Inserted it, replaced all the hardware, turned on the water, and it was perfect! No drips, perfect control. I proceeded to caulk around the faceplate and I was ready for a drink =)

Misleading picture

Delivery was quick but the main reason I purchased this item was it came with the complete piece I needed and couldn't find anywhere. In the pic it shows the lowest portion that contains the seats but does not come with it. False and misleading advertising.

Great value and restored my hot water

I able to find this product for a lower price than your neighborhood hardware store. When it was installed it help to restore my hot water within the home because the initial one that was installed when the house was built when bad. So the plumber was able to replace the old one with this item that I purchased from Amazon and within minutes I had hot water for a longer period of time in the shower.

Valve Assembly not complete

Ordered this valve assembly to replace one that froze and cracked last winter. The picture shows both parts of the pressure balance cartridge. I assumed that the pictured assembly was what I was getting. That is why I ordered this part. I only received the pressure balance cartridge and not the check valve, which is shown in the picture. If I had know this, I would have tried to order both parts. As luck would have it, the other part that I did not receive, did not suffer from freezing and works with the part I did receive. Other than that, the part came expeditiously and all works fine.

My backup

Had problems with dirt in my well water that caused some problems with our plumbing. Found one of these valves locally. So I purchased this one for a back up.

Product is not what it says it is!

When trying to return item the label and bar code would not print properly so could not use it. Is that amazon saves money and do not give proper items to return things????
