Comfortable but seem to be a knockoff from the real brand

At the price point, I'd expect these pants to last a long time and be very comfortable. Normally wouldn't spend this much on clothes, but had another pair of these exact pants purchased directly from retailer and wore them every day until they wore out -- purchased these to replace. Unfortunately, these seem to be a knockoff -- I took them to a tailor for hemming and she said she wouldn't recommend bothering as the waist is made with the same stretch fabric as legs and won't hold over time. Sure enough, after first wash, already have threads coming undone. Next time I'll purchase directly from the company, going with amazon was a mistake.
