Great Hat but Needs a little work

The basic guts of this hat are great, but some finished details are lacking. The fabric of the hat itself is well designed to keep you cool for a long period of time. However, the buttons for holding on to the portion protecting your neck and ears from the sun don't work and I had to super glue the neck portion to the main hat at the defective buttons on the hat. The neck portion needs a couple of lanyards to tie the hat to your head for windy days. Time to drag out the sewing machine for this alteration. You will need to make these adjustments to make you hat fully up to speed, but it is basically a good product.

Keeps you cool--even in extreme heat in East Africa

I bought this for my husband for our recent trip to East Africa. I've tried to get him to wear a hat for years, and he refuses because he says they are too hot. Finally a hat that he'll wear, even in the 115+ degree weather. Just get it wet and you are all set. He wore this everyday and said it really helps on hot days. The bonus for me is that it keeps the sun off too. He's in the sun so much that I worry about skin cancer. I'm so glad to have found a hat he'll wear. He also has a cooling vest that works the same, but as you can see in the photo, the vest is not as fashionable as the hat. The hat doesn't look too unusual, but still serves the purpose.

Keep your head cool running in sun

I love to run.I have short hair which tends to be nice for keeping cooler but the scalp and neck burn easily. Other hats even very thin race ones trap more heat then I'd like. With this hat both the sun is blocked and the heat is less. The drawstring helps the neck part stay near ears providing cooling. Cools less if just flopping around. I've been using this in 90+ heat mowing and running. Very happy. I like that the neck piece can come off for occasions where prefer not to use it but still have a hat. One small issue. Is the hole in back of hat above hat sizer. I'm afraid I may burn there. Should have tiny flap or neck piece should cover. After run, feeling top of head it is cool vs being warm to touch.

Neck Cooler Does Not Stay Snapped

The media could not be loaded. This cooling hat should be 5 stars. It stays cool for hours without re-wetting and it keeps your whole head and neck cool. It's the best cooling hat on the market except the neck cooler does not stay snapped to the brim. The part of the neck cooler that snaps to the brim of the hat pops right off on both sides. See pictures and video. I kept it because I am outside in the heat alot and have to keep my head cool. There's nothing else out there works as well for keeping your head cool but it sure is disappointing that it doesn't stay snapped. Short of taking it to a tailor for new snaps I'm not sure how to solve this problem.

It works, but has a defect

This hat really works to fight off heat, however, other reviews are accurate. The snaps that hold the neck gaitor on will come loose. I had to hand-sew the thing on, which is very difficult due to the hat brim material being very hard to penetrate with a needle. Pliers were needed. Now it works well.

Needs improvement

While wearing these hats the neck cover kept coming unsnapped. It did keep my head cool but the neck cover is useless. You have to adjust the hat to a larger size when using the neck cover.

Great hat BUT ...

I have owned three of these. The snaps WILL FAIL. The company knows it and they sell them anyway. Here is the thing: If you are willing to replace the snaps that hold the " Neck-Shade " portion of the product to the " Head " portion of the hat, or for that matter ignore the snaps and sew the two portions together ... you will have a great product that will keep you cool in intense dry heat. In short, great idea, great cloth material, terrible execution.
