Looks great, works great
Had installer put in when we renovated bathroom. Goes nicely with other chrome fixtures. Works well. No problems with installation.

Some very poor design elements with this faucet
Though I was impressed that this faucet was cast brass instead of cheaper stamped white metal(zinc) or cast zinc it has some quality and overall design problems. To clarify, I am a plumber of almost 20 years experience usually doing finish and service work so faucets and fixtures are my specialty. Before going into the numerous negatives here I will list the pros: quality cast brass handles, bonnets, and spout smooth and effortless handle operation great drain operation and design with all brass construction beautiful styling Now, the negatives: 1st, the 3 flexible hoses that connect to the spout tee were all ridiculously long. 20" each hose is about 12" to 14" too long. There is no way you could possibly ever need so much hose and because there was so much extra length it hung down below the level of the shut offs and even rested on the drain pipe. You could never use this faucet on a pedestal sink, wall hung sink, or open cabinet design since you would see the mess of hoses. 2nd, though the cable drain is very convenient and quick/easy to connect since there is no linkage it also means using it on some open bottom sinks like described above may be unsightly depending on whether you would rather see metal linkage or a black cable. The drain cable is much less obvious than the hoses however and usually rests against the back wall and to one side or the other. It may be preferred to the linkage depending on your opinion though. 3rd, the machined area under the spout base where the rubber washer goes to seal water from going between the top of the counter/sink and the spout where it could drip down underneath was not machined deep enough so the washer made the spout sit above the counter noticeably and not flush at all. American Standard should have simply machined it properly or included a thinner washer. This forced me to find a different washer or use plumber's putty. Since putty is annoying to me under faucet spouts and hot/cold stems as it should not be necessary I dug thru a bag of spare washers and used a compressible foam washer. 4th, the hot/cold stem bonnets were a very small diameter and they barely covered the standard 1-3/8" counter holes. The washers that go between the bonnets and the counter are even smaller than the diameter of the bonnets are out of necessity so this made installing the stems tricky as I had to center them perfectly in the holes or there would be nothing to seal out any errant water from dripping down into the cabinet. 5th, the hot/cold stem assemblies and the spout had threaded mounting shanks that were made of regular steel as were the nuts that hold them onto the counter/sink. This is a big no no in the plumbing industry and just showcases the cheaply paid/poorly educated engineers behind this design. Everyone knows that water will migrate down thru the sink/counter holes eventually either thru a leaking/worn out cartridge or water seepage past the bonnet washers on top of the counter/sink. This will lead to rust and a permanently unserviceable faucet since it will never come apart once those nuts rust onto the shanks. The mounting shanks should have been made of brass like virtually every other faucet that has been manufactured since the beginning of the industrial revolution. The steel shanks coupled with the small diameter bonnets mean water seepage is inevitable and I will never want to service this faucet at any point in the future. 6th, the mounting shanks had NO area to put a wrench on when tightening the mounting nuts as they were all steel thread with no flat areas to put a crescent wrench on. This means the stem assemblies turned in the sink/counter holes as you tighten the nuts since you have nothing to hold them in place. Typically, you use 2 wrenches to tighten stems in a counter or sink. One wrench to tighten the nut and the other wrench to hold the stem in place from twisting out of alignment. Since the handles go onto the stem assemblies in only position you can't clock them as with some other faucets that have splined mounts. If working under a counter with a sink already mounted as I did this makes a nightmare project of mounting these stems. I used a basin wrench on the mounting nuts and tried to fit a set of thin jaw pliers around the shanks. This was nearly impossible and took WAY longer than it normally does. As I would not leave the stems clocked so that the handles weren't straight I had to tighten and loosen them many times before they were close enough to symmetrical. If you have a drop in sink then this would make this easier with this particular poor design but those are rare these days since everyone wants an under mount sink requiring you to work from inside a cabinet on your back with a basin wrench and very little area to tighten anything with tools. Overall, this faucet was a poor design that was green-lighted without any quality or installation review whatsoever by the upper management before production was authorized. If it was reviewed then someone didn't do their job and just called it in. Obviously, no one at American Standard tried to install this faucet in a real world condition before mass producing it and it shows.

Cost more but out classes anything from your local big box hardware store. Anythnig off the shelf that I could find, anyway.
Well made, Almost industrial with stylish residential look. Stainless steel braded lines to your under sink valve and the mixing T. No need to buy separate under sink valve extension if they are installed to code. Stainless steel braided line from mixing T to faucet. Brass, bolt on, mixing T. No click and snap connections. Rubber seals and wrenched nuts. No bare plastic tubing. Good gaskets on hand valves and faucet. No plumbers putty required. Drain is all metal with a partially plastic pop up and mechanism which works differently than most. Research the online video on how the pop up works. It not the usual erector set contraption. When it pops up, its up. Installers know what I mean. The hand valves and faucet are fastened with a large nut which works better than most other fastening systems. Any that I have seen. Very sturdy. This faucet is very easy to install if YOU BUY THE 1-9/32 SHOWER VALVE SOCKET WRENCH. If you buy this cheap wrench, this faucet set is easier to install than any other faucet I have installed. You can literally tighten the nuts blind, meaning you don't need to lay upside down under your sink to see the screws or small nuts. You just slide this wrench over the hoses, hold the top of the faucet with one hand and tighten with the other. You are not cranking down on a couple of tiny screws. BUY THE WRENCH, trust me. It's inexpensive. Yes, it costs more than a faucet from your big box hardware store. It outclasses them hands down.
