Definitely NOT Slim Fit

These are very nice shorts and appear to be made very well. I love the color selection and decided to purchase these as they're advertised as "Slim Fit". I have several pair of Adidas shorts that are slim fit. These however, are far from being "Slim Fit". Compared to my Adidas shorts, the legs of the Amazon brand are 1"-2" larger in diameter.

Not really slim or very stretchy but good length and fit

Probably much better durability than most slim fit stretchy shorts but these are more like 2010 haggar golf shorts. Good fit and length so I'll keep them. Slight sheen to the darker color which is fine. Not a fan of the deep waist bands but most are designed this way now and will likely last longer. Some 36 shorts are too tight, these are slightly snug in the waist but comfortable. Glad they have hemmed buttons to adjust if needed.

Pretty nice shorts for the price.

Shorts fit as expected and seem to be good quality. Length is perfect, right above the knee.

These are like slacks that have been converted into shorts

Initial impression is that they seem like I took a pair of khaki slacks from the closet, cut them at the knee, and then hemmed it up a few inches. Also, If you squat/ don't have chicken legs and you have a slim waist, it's going to be tight on the thighs, but the waist fits to spec.

So far so good -- have worn these a few days in a row to break them in. Stretch factor feels pretty good and they are fairly comfortable.

Good quality, but inconsistent materials between colours

Size 30 x 30 fit well, slightly above the knee length and as hoped they are not slim, but not baggy. As a general rule I find normal fit I find are often more like a parachute, and slim are too tight. However these shorts fit about right. The only disappointing thing is that this is the second pair I have bought recently, and the materials are different. The grey are a really nice material with a smooth feel and look like proper golf shorts, which matched the material of the amazon essentials trousers I bought and would highly recommend. The grey ones also had the rubber strip to stop your shirt riding up. The black shorts I just received are more of a chino material, they are still ok but definitely not as nice as the grey ones in my opinion. The chino finish have made me wonder whether I will purchase again as I do not like chino type material, the smoother material of the grey ones I would definitely purchase again. The inconsistent materials is the only thing preventing a 5* review.

Smart, but smaller than avg cut and NOT stretch.

I ended up returning as the first pair ordered at my usual size (34W) were too small. Next size up arrived and they are a better fit, but still only a fit. None of my other pants/shorts are over 34W so I know it isn't me! They're good quality but where the claim of being 'stretch' comes from, I've no idea as there is literally no give in them... at least not around the waist. Rated 3 as description not especially accurate. Strongly advise ordering one size up from normal but that's really the only criticism.

Exceeded my expectations

I didn’t have any great expectations of these shorts, as they are cheap. But honestly I absolutely love them and have ordered more in different colours, I wanted a pair to play golf in and with a little stretch in the waist they are perfect. Size I normally buy medium as I’m 34-36 size, I ordered 34 and they are perfect. But the big bonus for me is that they are smart enough to wear on an evening out in the summer, when smart not sport shorts are called for. Thank you Amazon Basics

Value for money

Good quality and value for money. Durable, I have been wearing mine all summer and they are still in good condition. Waist fitting is generous. Only complaint is they are advertised as slim but they are not.

Not slimfit ...... not even close

These are NOT slimfit ..... I wish I had read what others said. They may he slimfit for someone who is 23 stone, but seriously, the description needs to he changed as currently it is a clear misrepresentation of fact. If you want slimfit, DO NOT BUY THESE.
