I REALLY wanted to like this watch, but sadly it looks like I'll be returning it after less than 24 hours. The good: I have a small wrist and my previous low profile fitness band was discontinued (Jawbone). This thing fits great, the screen is small but not too small, and everything fits nicely with no gaps between it and my skin. Also love the green color. The bad: almost everything. First, the setup was so infuriating, I almost sent it back right then and there. It had to be updated in order to pair, for which you MUST scan a QR code from the watch's screen. Anyone see a problem with this? You're trying to take a picture of a bright computer screen with tons of tiny details. We had to get the lighting in the room JUST RIGHT, and as if that weren't bad enough, the watch screen kept timing out at the exact moment my camera could finally focus on it. I had to change the autofocus settings on my phone, and it still took forever! Something that should've been super easy turned into a two man job; one person to hold the phone and stay focused on the screen, another to keep the watch steady and press the button on the side every 2 seconds (I'm not exaggerating, we counted). The kicker? You can't change the screen settings until AFTER you update and pair it, so there was absolutely no way we could've made the screen wait longer to time out. It was ridiculous. Screen issues seem to be a theme, because although the display is clear and colorful, it turns on and off at random intervals. I changed the settings so the screen would time out after 15 seconds instead, but this is completely meaningless. Sometimes it takes one or two seconds, sometimes longer, even if I'm actively touching it. It seems completely random and makes the watch itself almost impossible to interact with. Then, when I'm not doing anything and it's locked, it will turn on all. the. time. I thought it might be reacting to movement but nope! I tried staying perfectly still and it continued to turn on randomly. And when I say random, I mean it. The same activity never makes the screen turn on twice in a row. This wouldn't be so bad if I could just lock it with the side button, like my phone, and use only the app (something I'm used to doing with my old tracker anyways). But with the watch, "locking" doesn't turn the screen off, just makes it so you can't interact with the display. And it still turns on and off constantly. So all throughout the night the screen is flashing on and off and I can't do anything about it. SUPER distracting and obnoxious. Maybe I'm doing something wrong and there's a way to fix all this, but it's impossible to tell. The settings on the phone and watch are somehow both bare bones AND difficult to navigate (I can't even find where to change the temperature from Celsius to Fahrenheit) so it's impossible to troubleshoot. Plus, so far the watch seems to be ignoring the settings I change (like the screen timeout) anyways. Oh, and we even had to Google how to do that. This isn't a big name brand, so finding that info online took forever. The manual is 10 pages long and only contains safety information. I can't even comment on the accuracy of the metrics, because using this thing has been so difficult. It does things that don't make sense, it's impossible to navigate the settings, and everything is counter intuitive. The screen has a mind of its own, and let me tell you, that got old FAST. This one fits so nicely, it really is tragic. I guess I'm getting one of the clunky fitness trackers with a huge screen or a bracelet that sticks out super far.
