Wow love it

This is Great!!! I like the way you can adjust it. This is set on a 30% setting. I could set higher but why happy the way it looks at this setting. Also to mention didn’t notice anything on my electric bill either.

Koi pond pump

We use our pump in a Koi pond. It moves a lot of water. It tends to get plugged easily. It works very well until it’s plugged.

What a deal!

What can I say. Alpine pumps are great. The only thing better than their pumps is their customer service department. I experienced a small issue with my pump. I emailed the customer service representative and in no time they shipped me out a replacement. It doesn’t get any better than that.

THIS is the Pump You Should Buy!

I built a 30' pondless waterfall and stream with an 7-foot head. It has 8000 lbs of basalt rock and river rock, blue/green lighting, automatic irrigation for the surrounding garden, a little bridge, etc. It was a big investment in time and money. When it came to selecting a pump, I wasn't sure what flow rate would be ideal. Would I want high flow and loud? Or a very low flow that is quiet and calming? I also was concerned about energy use. I found some pumps that burned 400W of power. The electricity bill to run these pumps 24/7 would be significant. I created a spreadsheet in excel and listed over a dozen different top rated pumps from various manufacturers. When I found this Alpine pump, it immediately stood out as the best. I've run it only for a week now, so I can't comment on its durability and reliability. But, after turning it on and experimenting with it, I am very surprised by three discoveries: 1. At 100% power, the flow rate is amazing. It's like I have a little Niagra Falls running. The waterfalls are loud and turbulent. But the calm, lower-flow setting of 33% is preferred by family members. It's quiet and calming. I love the variable speed controller! Why would you settle for a pump that doesn't have variable speed? Most days I want quiet, but some days I want loud and bold waterfalls. 2. At 100% power, the power usage is only around 160W. But at my preferred 33% setting, it's only 30W!!!!!! Wow! This waterfall is costing me next to nothing to operate due to the high efficiency motor! 3. I didn't realize that the controller has a digital 0-100% setting that SWITCHES to a watt meter after you make your flow rate percentage selection. I love the built in watt meter! I measured it against a dedicated watt meter that I own and it's spot-on accurate. All in all, assuming this pump is durable, it's the one to buy. ADDED May 2, 2022... After 4 years of near continuous use, this pump is still going strong. I've had zero problems with it.

Exceeded expectations

The media could not be loaded. My husband has been researching all sorts of pond bubblers for quite some time now. He finally decided on this one, the price point was perfect and seemed decent based on reviews. What a find! This thing moves a lot more water than we expected, and within hours the oxygenation did wonders for the water. What was once a murky mess we can now see to the bottom of! The fish really like it too. Otters were understandably curious but didn't try to attack it and seem unphazed by it now. Quality is great, it has a ceramic driveshaft so it's incapable of rusting. Cleaning it is a breeze, just pop it out of the water, open it up and hose er down. It seems to chop through leaves no problem, there really isn't much debris in there when you have to clean it. Simple and great design! We're going to get another one for the other side of the pond. Extremely happy with this purchase!!

very efficient pump

the variable control is priceless - lets me run my waterfall/stream at high, low or any rate flow. Getting plenty of water flowing through 75' x 2" hose with lift of about 7' at only 100 watts. Have only used for a few hours, so I have no idea on longevity, but think warranty is 3 years.

Alpine has GREAT customer service!

I purchased this pump a few months ago. It worked great until it didn't. I contacted Alpine, and explained my Koi pond really needed the pump. They were right on it. Unfortunately, my Eco-Sphere Energy-Saving Pump with Controller 5400GPH was on back order, and since I've got Koi who were in need, I opted for a similar replacement. Within a day, they had sent me the replacement pump and it arrived by the end of the week. If you are looking for a great company to do business with, one that stands behind their warranty I highly recommend Alpine. I'm not sure what happened to my original pump, but I've now got an adequate replacement, and all is good.
